For sale, 280 rounds of very, very, very early Turkish 8mm Mauser -- Ottoman Surplus -- ammunition. The ammo exhibits a 1926 headstamp and 1927 packaging (Arabic numerals are kind of funky for a Kentuckian to cipher, but this is the best we can make out of the inscriptions). This ammo features a 154 grain jacketed bullet and flake powder matching the performance of the German 8mm S round. When you shoot this, you will find out that this is a high pressure, full power military cartridge.
It used to be the case that Turkish 8mm ammo could be found everywhere at a very cheap price. That is no longer the case. Still yet, this is the cheapest you will find 8mm for ANYWHERE.
Interestingly, the Ottomans first chambered their Mauser rifles in 7.65x53 Mauser, but during the first World War, the Ottomans used more and more Imperial German weapons and ammo and eventually switched all their rifles to 8mm Mauser, like this ammunition here.
The jackets are cupro-nickel jacketed. You will note that this ammo probably attracts a magnet. Overall, the ammo is in good shape but we can make no specific assurances as to whether or how it will shoot or the safety of doing so.
Also, some of this ammo comes in 280 rounds sleeves. Some of it comes in four different 70 rounds boxes. It is the same stuff, it is just that some of the sleeves are missing/intact, and we cannot promise you specifically what kind of packaging you will receive. If you have a strong preference for a sleeve, just make a note of it in our order and we will do our best to make sure that is how your ammo comes.

Recently went to the range with it, no misfires, or duds, but I went through the boxes and found hair line cracks at the neck of at least 7 to 9 rounds in each box, given the age of the cartridge its expected but over all performance at the range, recoil was substantial, went through a box and was very satisfied with the product. I look forward to buying more Turkish ammunition. i personally would not recommend putting these rounds through self loading rifles. Bolty rifles strongly suggested for this brand of surplus.
