Though we have been in business since 1988 and have 11 stores across Kentucky and Ohio, this is probably the first time you’ve ever heard of us. That is because we didn’t start selling firearms in-store until 2017 or online until late 2020. Until then, we were exclusively a chain of fine jewelry stores and pawnshops.
Since then, we have made a name for ourselves. We sell cheap, ship quick, and take care of business. If your package gets lost or damaged before it is delivered, we cover it–at no cost you. With this level of value and service, we have developed a loyal customer base consisting of tens of thousands of proud, patriotic gun owners.
We believe it is your God-given right to own a gun. Especially in times like these, gun ownership isn’t just a right, it’s a necessity. Every once in a while, someone will tell me that they’ve found a piece of jewelry for less money at another store. The first thing I ask is, “Which one of our other stores were you shopping in?” If they say anywhere else besides The Castle, I ask what the quality of the diamonds or gemstones were. Many times, they cannot answer and that is not their fault! This is usually because the sales associate did not provide any information regarding the quality of the jewelry they were interested in buying.
At The Castle, our sales associates attend training classes every other week and everybody is trained by GIA (Gemological Institute of America) standards on how to grade diamonds. In turn, we like to impart that knowledge to our customers. We will teach you how to use a loupe and train you to be able to spot inclusions – or lack thereof – in diamonds you are interested in. We will then show you how to apply that knowledge to clarity and color charts so you know exactly what you are buying!
We encourage you to look around at other stores, armed with this knowledge. When you compare quality, you won’t find a better deal anywhere on the planet.HOW ARE WE ABLE TO SELL JEWELRY SO MUCH LOWER THAN THE COMPETITION?
Being a pawn shop plays a role in that; the interest on our pawn loans pays a large portion of our overhead. The way we buy our jewelry also plays a role in our competitive advantage. The secret is – we pay for our inventory when we receive it.
Almost all other retail jewelry stores get their inventory on memo, which means on credit. Retail jewelry stores take at least six to nine months to pay the manufacturer. The fact that they operate on the manufacturer’s money is bad enough- what makes it worse is that they always want to return what they did not sell against what they owe. In the end, retail stores wind up paying much more than we do, so they mark up their jewelry much more than we do.
Therefore, we can sell for much less!
HOW DO I KNOW WHAT IS NEW AND WHAT IS RECONDITIONED?
This is a good question! At The Castle, our new jewelry has two tags and our reconditioned jewelry has one. If we didn’t do this, even we would have a hard time telling the difference! We have jewelers that work onsite that clean, buff, polish, and check for defects on all of our pre-owned jewelry to ensure they look brand new! If it doesn’t match our expectations, we don’t sell it! We are so confident in the work our jewelers do that we offer the same warranty on our reconditioned jewelry as the manufacturer’s warranty on our new jewelry. We do not charge any extra for this warranty! It’s included in your purchase price.
DID YOU KNOW THAT RETAIL STORES SELL USED JEWELRY?
They do! Every retail jewelry store has the same trade-in policy that we do here at The Castle. However, other stores simply resell these pieces that were traded in and advertise them as brand new. The only exception is Cartier, as they do not take trade-ins.
DOES THE CASTLE REPAIR ANY TYPE OF JEWELRY?
While our jewelers are professionally trained when it comes to the restoration of our pre-owned jewelry, their expertise does not stop there! We are proud to offer a full service, world-class repair department located in our New Circle Road store that can complete most jobs within one business day! Our repair services cost a fraction of what you would normally pay, too.
